Service Manager:
Kim Openshaw

We provide expert support in Bolton for people who need any degree of support, but want to continue living at home.

Since Care UK took over the service in Bolton we have been expanding the services offered to local people. We can now offer help for older people including individuals living with dementia, as well as continuing healthcare and support for people with physical or learning disabilities.

At any one time, our support workers are caring for around 250 people in the area. However, we always provide care in a way which is special to each person’s needs. Support workers fit in around our customers’ lifestyle delivering support in a way which enhances lives rather than interrupts them.

We always match our support workers with the people they support. Companionship is important and anyone who comes to Care UK for care services will receive support from people they will get on well with. It all makes the process more enjoyable and effective for everyone.

We cover the following areas:

Astley Bridge, Bromley cross, Harwood, Sharples, Breightmet, Tongemoor, Halliwell, Smithills, Farnworth, Kearsley, Stoneclough, Lady bridge, Heaton

If you have any questions about any of our home care services, don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.

Meet the manager

Kim Openshaw is manager of our regional service in Bolton. She explains why she returned to the care profession after some time out.

I joined the company in July 2006 after taking three years off work to care for my young son. I had been working in care for most of my professional life and always wanted to return.

What brought me back was the immense job satisfaction I get from supporting our customers to continue living at home for as long as they want. It’s great when we’re able to help people return to full health and to see an individual we’ve worked with regaining their former lifestyle.

Even when people are approaching the end of their life, I take great pleasure from ensuring they can remain comfortably at home. People should always have the right to reside in an environment they find comfortable and surrounded by family, and I’m proud of the fact that we enable people to do that.

To me, the most important factor in this job is to offer people choice. I want all our customers to know they have control over everything and that we will fit in around their needs. Our team here are very friendly and listen to what people want. If there’s one thing I can say to anyone considering our services it’s that they will always be in control.
