Care UK provides expert care that supports people in Coventry to live independently in their own homes
We know and understand how important good home support is for people who want to live independently. Our services include help for older people, support for people living with dementia, learning disabilities and we pride healthcare for people with chronic or long-term illness.
We can also provide supported living options for older people and individuals with learning disabilities. This option gives access to round the clock support, but in the comfortable environment of a specially designed flat. It’s ideal for people who require support but want some independence of their own.
Tailor-made care plans
At any one time we can support more than 150 people across Coventry. We tailor our services around you. We will spend time getting to know your likes and dislikes and create a unique lifestyle plan, which we hope will encourage you to live a fulfilling and happy life. The results of this approach are very rewarding and our team loves seeing the great progress our customers are make.
Meet the manager
Amanda Coombes is branch manager at our care at home branch in Coventry. She tells us how her variety of experience helps her in her current role.
I’ve worked in the health and social care sector for over 14 years and worked in a variety of roles, including field-based positions, before I moved into the office environment as a senior coordinator and then as a branch manager.
I am very passionate about the service we deliver and work hard to ensure that every member of the team is providing a service in line with the highest standards of care. My work out in the field has given me a valuable knowledge and understanding of working with vulnerable groups such as the elderly and young people. I use this understanding into practice every day to deliver the service I believe our customers deserve.
My team provides a range of private or local authority funded services to customers living in their own homes in the local community. We use a person centred approach that promotes the independence of our customers and ensures that they are at the centre of the care we provide.
We also help families with our Homecare Select service. This offers customers a range of services that they pay for themselves (the local council would not be able to fund such services) and which include socialising, shopping, companionship, domestic duties, personal care and respite services. We’re also currently delivering palliative care packages and have received excellent feedback about our work.
My great team in Coventry works very hard, and some days can be very challenging. I’m very proud of them and the passion they have in the services we deliver. We often arrange coffee mornings and invite all the care staff to get together – after all, it can be lonely working out in the field on your own. I’m proud to say that the team regularly gets very positive feedback from our local social services teams regarding the passion of our support workers and our team leaders who are out there promoting the excellent image of Care UK.
