We help people around Winchester receive the support they need in the comfort of home.
For many people, having access to support in the comfort of their own home is vital in helping them find ways of living with greater independence. Our services offer help for older people, people with physical disabilities and individuals who require continuing support.
At any one time we are helping around 200 people across the area, but we always work with what we call a person centred approach. Our team gets to know people on a personal level which ensures everyone gets a service which is unique to them. This has proved extremely important in enabling us to offer the best service possible.
Meet the manager
Jane Judd manages the Hampshire care at home branch in Southampton. She tells us about her background and what makes the branch special.
I started working in the healthcare sector in April 2011 after spending years working behind the scenes in operational management and financial services. I wanted to have more direct contact with my customers and to go home each day knowing that I’d really made a difference to someone.
I joined Care UK in January 2014 and what I immediately recognised was how fantastic the team is. They’re all committed to ensuring that our customers’ needs are met. In fact they regularly go above and beyond to ensure that customers receive the care they need.
The success of any branch is down to how well the team works together and I see my role as supporting and developing each person to help them to realise their full potential. I really enjoy working as part of the team to achieve great things. No two days are the same – I might be visiting a customer in their home, meeting the local authority or preparing rotas – but each element is rewarding and I can see makes a difference.
My priority now is to attract more quality carers to the team to enable us to maintain and grow our business safely, and to give even more people the opportunity to stay in the comfort of their own homes.
